Certifications/Qualifications

  • Valid New York State (NYS) certification as a School Psychologist
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting psychological evaluations, interpreting results, and writing comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to provide individual and group counseling to students with special needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Experience in completing functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans
  • Proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and monitor student progress.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of students
  • Interpret assessment results and write comprehensive reports that inform educational planning.
  • Chair CSE meetings
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students
  • Facilitate behavioral assessments and intervention plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs.
  • Participate in school-based teams to support a positive school climate.
  • Provide crisis intervention

Certifications/Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Teacher Certification in Business Education.
  • Experience teaching business courses at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Additional WBL extension is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Those with industry experience who qualify for NYS teacher certification can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with NYS Business Education standards.
  • Ability to engage students in discussing real-world business-based experiences.
  • Teach a variety of business subjects, such as Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance, and Business Law.
  • Integrate technology and real-world applications into instruction.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Encourage student participation in business-related extracurricular activities, including DECA and FBLA.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
