Director of Professional Learning

Overview of Role:

The Director of Professional Learning will serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet (DLST).  Work directly with the Superintendent, members of the DLST, building and department leaders to support the effective and efficient provision of professional development opportunities aligned with the Profile of a Shen Employee, in support of the district goals and essential objectives. Proactively communicate with the Superintendent and members of the District Leadership Support Team (DLST). Provide leadership to assure that applicable laws and regulations are followed. Overview of Role:

The Director of Student Growth and Innovation will serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet (DLST).  Work directly with the Superintendent, members of the DLST, building and department leadership to support the effective and efficient provision of academic and career counseling for students K-12, and the provision of a comprehensive continuum of mental health services that are aligned with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Graduate, Profile of a Shenendehowa Middle School Student, Profile of a Shenendehowa Elementary Student, and consistent with the district’s Values and Beliefs.  Proactively communicate with the Superintendent and members of the District Leadership Support Team (DLST). Provide leadership to assure that applicable laws and regulations are followed. General Responsibilities:  Experienced School Campus Security Officer or equivalent.  This position requires interaction and providing assistance as needed to school staff, students, as well as the community.  Shift requires work on weekends and holidays, and staying past assigned hours as needed.

Qualifications:  Must have experience working as a security officer and hold a current NYS Security Guard License as well as a valid New York State driver’s license. These licenses are the responsibility of the employee to maintain in current status in order to be employed by Shenendehowa CSD. Must be physically fit, professional, dedicated and trustworthy; have the ability to react and operate upon emergency notifications to building fire, intrusion and mechanical alarm; and have excellent verbal and written skills.

General ResponsibilitiesProvide helpdesk and on-site diagnostics of district technology to staff and students.  Respond to requests for technology support and determine most effective method for solving problems;  Serve as technology point of contact for system maintenance and troubleshooting within the school buildings; communicate district technology specifications and practices to building staff.  Maintain, install, relocate, repair, and support a wide range of hardware, software, communications and technology equipment (e.g. computers, printers, projection systems, interactive whiteboards, and mobile devices);  Use various automated tools to assist with print management, network administration, device management, end-user support, inventory, and to prepare/maintain documentation and reports as needed; Repetitive heavy lifting and moving of technology equipment is required; The ability to positively interact with a variety of stakeholder groups including students, and staff; The ability to work collaboratively in a positive way with the current office staff; Perform other duties as assigned.
