Certifications/Qualifications

  • Valid NYS Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) & Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
  • Strong pedagogical skills in English Language Arts, focusing on meeting the needs of early middle school learners.
  • Experience teaching English Language Arts, preferably with 6th grade students.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans to develop writing skills.
  • Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment encouraging student participation and a love of writing.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of 6th graders.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies and technology to enhance English Language Arts learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
