The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Employee. Compensation & Benefits Step 1 - $55,919/yr (min) + $6,000 annual stipend STA Collective Bargaining Agreement Certifications/Qualifications NYS Special Education Certification Experience working with students with significant cognitive and developmental disabilities preferred. Knowledge of alternate assessment and functional curriculum frameworks. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Implement a functional academic curriculum focused on communication, social interaction, and independence. Collect data and progress monitor student goals and objectives aligned to IEPs. Collaborate with related service providers, teaching assistants, general education teachers, and families. Create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth. Facilitate mainstreaming opportunities as appropriate. Participate in team meetings, annual reviews, and professional development activities. Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws and district policies.
