| Director of Facilities III, Provisional | | Director of Facilities III District-Wide 8 hrs/day, 12 mos/year Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications. Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Business Operations Supervises: Maintenance & Grounds Personnel Job Responsibilities The administrative position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the District’s facilities department, including the leadership of safety protocols, efficient operations, and the proper maintenance of the buildings and grounds. Key responsibilities include: - Directing, assigning, and evaluating the work of maintenance and grounds personnel;
- Overseeing and managing the department’s budget, purchasing, inventory, and work order systems;
- Coordinating and maintaining the department’s safety program, including regular inspections, safety drills, and on-the-job training for proper equipment operation and maintenance to insure health and safety regulations;
- Scheduling routine inspections, documenting results, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, including the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of Health, Education Department, in accordance with prescribed maintenance and grounds practices,
- Collaborating with construction managers, architects, and/or engineers to develop, implement, and complete capital improvement projects and other long-term plans;
- Coordinating with the Director of Operations, Supervisors, and staff to maintain safe and proper working conditions across all district buildings and grounds, including snow removal, mowing, hedge trimming, playground maintenance, and upkeep of walkways, roadways, parking areas, and athletic fields;
- Conducting visual inspections of painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance work performed by contractors or district personnel to ensure quality and completion standards are met;
- Oversees and monitors inventory system;
- Supervises in-service training of maintenance and grounds staff;
- Discusses capital projects, maintenance, grounds, repair and operational needs with district administration;
- Monitors distribution/collection of keys for district facilities, including management of locksmithing duties, coordinates security/entry protocols with Director of Operations;
- Interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements and district policy in relation to facilities department processes and procedures;
- Perfr additional responsibilities as required.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $95,000 - $115,000/yr, commensurate with experience District Administrative Support Staff (DASS) Qualifications - Associate’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited registered college or university;
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership and supervisory experience in the field of school facilities management/maintenance, engineering, building construction, including but not limited to experience;
- Must possess valid NYS driver’s license and certificates appropriate to the vehicles, equipment and/or machinery operated;
- Solid knowledge of modern buildings and grounds maintenance and repair practices, including working experience in one or more of the skilled trades and the safe use and operation of related tools and equipment;
- Ability to plan and direct the work of subordinates, maintain data, records, and produce reports, as well as establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
