Program Description

The Shenendehowa CSD Summer Program - Special Education/Extended School Year (ESY) is an academic based six-week summer program designed to help students maintain and further develop their skills over the summer.  Offering both full day and half-day opportunities with a schedule of Monday through Friday for the duration of the six-week program.

 

Compensation

$ 332.78/full day

$ 162.56/half day

Program Description

The Shenendehowa Central School District, in conjunction with the Community Education Department, sponsors Shen Summer Adventures enrichment programs for students entering grades 1-12. Some camps are half-day camps while others are full-day camps. All camps are located at Shenendehowa schools.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have previous experience in camp or youth leadership. Strong background in working with children; passion for creativity and education; excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment; and able to relate to children and ensure they have a fun and memorable camp experience.

The Shenendehowa Summer School Program provides students in grades 6-12 an opportunity to take courses for credit recovery, skill building, and acceleration (Hybrid Health).

$ 2,390/section (pro-rated)

Program Description

The Summer Literacy Support Program is a very concentrated session of learning and requires teachers to provide intensive interventions and direct instruction to students performing below grade level.  Teachers need the capacity to motivate reluctant learners, foster a love of learning, and help students have fun (!) during the program.  

 

Compensation

$201.38/day

 

Certifications/Qualifications

NYS Nursery, Kindergarten & Grades 1-6 OR NYS Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten & Grades 1-6 OR

NYS Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) certification

Experience teaching early literacy and primary math skills, and/or providing academic intervention services.

 

Program Dates:

The program runs July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026, Monday - Thursday

Students are in session 9:00 am – 11:30 am

Staff reporting time is 8:30 am – 12:15 pm
