Job Responsibilities

The position provides clerical support to teachers and other staff members to ensure an efficient and effective learning environment for all students, such responsibilities include:

  • Communicates with staff, students, and parents in a responsible, respectful, and timely manner;
  • Assists and prepares electronic communications, announcements, bulletins;
  • Prepares copies, laminates, and types documents, such as tests, quizzes, and correspondence;
  • Maintains inventory and ordering workroom supplies;
  • Sorts, opens, and distributes mail;
  • Organizes student work and year end exams;
  • May act as receptionist for building workroom;
  • Provides assistance and clerical support to guidance, attendance, nurse, and/or main office staff, as needed; and additional responsibilities as required.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Step 1 ($18.83/hr) - Step 7 ($24.93/hr)

Certifications/Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and 2 years office experience.  Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Exhibit good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy.  Strong computer skills with aptitude for learning new software technology required.  Experience with a variety of computer software applications, preferred. Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

The position provides clerical support to ensure accurate maintenance of all student attendance records, such responsibilities include:

  • Notifying parents when students are not in attendance;
  • Working with faculty and staff on all student attendance issues;
  • Maintaining daily announcements and attendance bulletin on the webpage and student information system (SIS);
  • Providing clerical support for the nurse as needed;
  • Assisting with supervision tasks pertaining to the nurse’s/attendance office;
  • Communicating with staff, students, and parents in a responsible, respectful, and timely manner;
  • Preparing correspondence and announcements; and additional responsibilities as required.

The position provides routine support to ensure accurate and timely processing and delivery of mailings and equipment, such responsibilities include:

  • Receives, sorts, and delivers incoming and outgoing USPS, UPS, and interoffice mailings across the district;
  • Transports broken and defective computer equipment to repair points and returns them when repairs are complete;
  • Transports school funds to secure locations;
  • Manages helpdesk tickets using a computerized system for tasks related to moving equipment and boxes; and assists with other department projects/assignments as required.

Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license. Good driving skills and working knowledge of safe driving practices, traffic laws, and regulations. Exhibit good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy.  Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, requiring ability to lift up to 75 pounds and walk 10,000+ steps/day.

Payroll and Benefits Analyst

Job Responsibilities

Working under the general direction of Assistant Superintendent of Finance and direct supervision of the District Treasurer, the Payroll & Benefits Analyst is responsible for the performance of a variety of moderately complex tasks in preparation and control of municipal payrolls and employee benefits. Responsibilities may include:

  • Responsible for preparation of a variety of analysis to determine data validity and trends as it relates to payroll and benefits for the District;
  • Prepares/processes/reviews payroll timesheets and data;
  • Reviews open unemployment, workers compensation, and disability cases;
  • Assists in tracking information and preparation of audit and/or mandated governmental benefits reporting requirements;
  • Performs financial analysis to ensure proper expenditure recording of payroll/benefits and researches/resolves employee pay issues;
  • Processes and maintains leave of absence documentation and invoices;
  • Reconciles monthly/quarterly/annual reports as required;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000/yr, commensurate with experience

Certifications/Qualifications

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, economics or closely related field and five (5) years’ experience in maintaining financial records and accounts, three (3) of which must have involved the preparation of payrolls and/or employee benefits; OR High School Graduation with eight (8) years’ maintaining financial records and accounts, five (5) of which must have involved the preparation of payrolls and/or employee benefits. Thorough knowledge of modern methods of maintaining and review of financial records and accounts and applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations for payroll procedures is required.  Ability to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately and to prepare and maintain written records and reports required.  Clerical aptitude with high degree of accuracy, tact and courtesy with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and vendors is required.
