Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications.  The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Employee.

 

Job Responsibilities

The position provides helpdesk and on-site diagnostics of district technology to staff and students, responsibilities may include:

  • Responding to requests for technology support and determine most effective method for solving problems;
  • Serving as technology point of contact for systems maintenance and troubleshooting of school building software and hardware;
  • Communicating district technology specifications and practices to building staff;
  • Maintaining, installing, relocating, repairing, and supporting a wide range of hardware, software, communications, and technology equipment (i.e. computers, printers, projections systems, interactive whiteboards, and mobile devices);
  • Using various automated tools to assist with print management, network administration, device management, end-user support, inventory, and to prepare/maintain documentation and reports as needed;
  • Repetitive heavy lifting and moving of technology equipment is required;
  • Maintaining positive communications (verbal and written) with a variety of stakeholder groups including students, staff and administration; and additional responsibilities as required.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Step 1 ($26.02/hr) - Step 7 ($35.69/hr)

Certifications/Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and 4+ years technology experience with aptitude for learning new technology. Advanced degree in computer technology or related field, preferred.  Ability to embrace change, establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Exhibits good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy.  Solid working knowledge of computer hardware, applications software, and local and wide area networks.  Aptitude for learning modern technologies and applying best practices for diagnosis, maintenance, and repairs.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required.  Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

*THIS WILL BE A PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT* In order to be appointed permanently to this competitive position the individual must take the Saratoga County civil service exam for the job classification of Microcomputer Technician and be reachable on the resulting Saratoga County civil service list.
