Shenendehowa Central School District is now hiring a School District Treasurer

 

 

 

The School District Treasurer is responsible for maintaining official records on school district finances and overseeing finance personnel; does related work as required. This position involves the responsibility of maintaining the official financial accounts and records of the school district.  The work is performed according to procedures outlined by the NYS Education Department, as well as the Audit and Control Departments. Benefits & Salary:

The district offers a competitive salary and benefits package for this 12-month exempt position. Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform budgeting and accounting functions, and maintain records for all financial transactions
  • Prepare monthly treasurer reports, cash flow summary, and fund balance projections
  • Process all bank wires and transfers and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Provide supervision and support for finance staff
  • Assist in budget development and preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Assist with year-end accounting functions to close the books, including but not limited to, accruals, rollovers, receivables, and payables
  • Assist with the District's auditing processes including external audit and monthly claims audits
  • Other Business Office functions and special projects

 

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or related field).

  • Working knowledge of WinCap, the districts' financial accounting system.

  • Proficiency in EXCEL, maintaining accurate databases, excellent computer skills, ability to develop relevant ad hoc reports, maintaining financial accounts and records.

  • Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, procedures, and policies as they relate to school district finances.

  • Ability to prepare and present precise reports; integrity; accuracy; good accounting judgment.

  • Accounting and supervisory experience of three years or more are preferred.
