1.0 FTE Probationary Position
Shenendehowa Central School District is seeking a culturally proficient music teacher for an anticipated probationary position beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success, consistent with the Shenendehowa Profiles.
Certifications/Qualifications
- Valid New York State certification in Music Education (K-12).
- Strong pedagogical skills in strings/orchestra instruction.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to engage middle and high school students.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into music instruction.
- Demonstrated expertise in playing string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass)..
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans for strings/orchestra classes that promote musical literacy, appreciation, and skills.
- Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity in strings/orchestra.
- Assess and monitor student progress in strings/orchestra, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction as needed.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance strings/orchestra learning.
- Organize and direct school concerts and performances featuring strings/orchestra students.
Compensation & Benefits
Step 1 - $56,758/yr (min)
