Reports to: Director of Information Management Services
Supervises: Helpdesk Technicians
Overview of Role
The Technology Administrator serves as an active, contributing member of the Information Management Services department involving the management of technology-related accounts, equipment, platforms, and applications. The primary objective is planning and coordinating day-to-day priorities and logistics to provide comprehensive end-user technical support. This role requires supervising a team of Helpdesk Technicians, managing project implementations, and collaborating with various departments and vendors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises a team of Helpdesk Technicians, including managing daily priorities and logistics planning.
- Manages and configures the Helpdesk and inventory tracking systems, including architecting departmental procedures and standards.
- Provides training to Technicians to ensure efficient use of ticketing and inventory systems
- Configures, installs, maintains, and repairs computers, mobile devices, and related hardware.
- Provides support for both instructional and non-instructional technologies to staff and public patrons.
- Manages Mobile Device Management (MDM) configuration and management.
- Oversees specialized systems including Internet Filtering, Phishing Simulation, and Cloud Faxing.
- Monitors technology inventory and leads software and hardware life cycle planning.
- Supervises the management and storage of student, staff, financial, and Board of Education records in compliance with NYS records retention rules.
- Coordinates with BOCES for physical space allocation in records warehouses.
- Manage and implement projects in collaboration with other departments and/or vendors.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $62,308/yr (Step 1) - $74,451/yr (Step 7)

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements (Either A, B, or C)
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Services, Management Information Systems, or related field, plus one (1) year of experience in systems administration, technical support, or applications development.
- Graduation from High School or possession of a GED plus three (3) years of experience in systems administration, technical support, or applications development.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined in (A) and (B).
Training and/or Certifications
Must have thorough knowledge of technology-related accounts, equipment, platforms, and applications for the operation of the school district and maintain appropriate training and certifications to satisfy position requirements, including:
- Helpdesk System Administration
- Internet Filtering Systems
- Google Workspace for Education
- MDM Configuration and Management
- Phishing Simulation Technology
- Cloud Faxing
- Software & Hardware Life Cycle Planning
Leadership Characteristics

- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Exhibits good judgment, mental alertness, tact, and courtesy.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or move at least 50 lbs on a routine basis.
