Community Services Coordinator

District-Wide

8 hrs/day, 12 mos/year

 

Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications.  The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Shenendehowa Profiles.

 

Job Responsibilities

The position is responsible for planning and implementing projects related to facility use by school and community members, as well as other special projects related to community services and engagement for a school district.  The successful candidate must be organized, analytical, flexible, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedules facilities use using a software system, analyzes needs to prevent overbooking or double booking of spaces, and resolves scheduling conflicts or other complaints related to facilities use.
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing, in-depth relationships with school groups, community groups, agencies, and individuals who use school facilities pursuant to BOE policy and regulations.
  • Assists in the coordination of and fundraising for the Bountiful Backpack program as directed.
  • May participate in meetings with civic and business leaders to discuss school related partnerships consistent with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Meets with school groups, community groups, agencies, and individuals to determine and facilitate facilities use programs.
  • Reviews and addresses special community requests.
  • Prepares a broad range of reports and records, including the budget for space utilization.
  • Completes other tasks related to the broad scope of the position as required and directed by the Superintendent or designee.

 

Compensation & Benefits

Group 3, Step 1 ($56,779/yr) – Step 7 ($65,078/yr)

SUSA Collective Bargaining Agreement

 

Qualifications & Skills

Deep understanding of public relations principles, including message development and community engagement strategies.  Proven ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships. Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.    Ability to analyze complex information, identify key takeaways, and prioritize accordingly.  Advanced skills in standard office software, with an aptitude for learning new communication tools. Skilled in the end-to-end production of community information materials, including drafting, publishing, and distributing. Self-motivated and adaptable, with demonstrated ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.  Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HSE)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community relations, public relations, or a related field.
