Shenendehowa Central School District is now accepting applications for Evening Substitute Cleaners. The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Employee.
Job Responsibilities
Performs routine building cleaning duties of both the interior and exterior of the building. These cleaning duties include: cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms; dusting and polishing chairs, tables, desks and other furniture; sweeping, mopping, washing, waxing and vacuuming floors; painting interior and exterior of building; keeping sidewalks clean in summer, leaf removal in fall and ice and snow removal in winter; receives, moving and storing supplies for building occupants; arranging chairs, tables and other equipment for special use of the building; washing windows, both interior and exterior, walls and woodwork; replacing light bulbs, making minor repairs, operation of floor machinery, snow blowers and other duties, as needed. This person should also possess excellent people skills.

Substitutes for support staff positions will assume all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the regular
support staff, which varies dependent upon position.
- Execute a job as informed by the department manager/building principal and work collaboratively with
colleagues.
- Respond effectively and professionally to staff and students.
- Use real-world context and integrate technology when appropriate.
- Continually assess and analyze the environment making adjustments that have a positive impact on student’s environment and overall learning experience.
- Maintain a positive learning environment for all students.
- Performs all other duties assigned by the department manager/building principal.
