1.0 FTE LOA Term Position

 

Applications are now being accepted for a LOA Term position for the 2025 – 2026 school year. The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Employee.

 

 

Certifications/Qualifications

  • Valid NYS English Language Arts (Grades 7-12) certification
  • Strong pedagogical approach to teaching and learning in English Language Arts, with a focus on NYS standards and skills in grades 11-12
  • Experience with curriculum, instruction and assessment at the high school level is preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for adolescent learners
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that develop skills in reading, writing, listening/speaking and language
  • Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, close reading of texts, skillful writing and clear expression of ideas
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Utilize various instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning
  • Prepare students for college and career readiness
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administrators to support student success
