Teacher Aide (Academic Lab)

High School East

7 hrs/day, 10 mos/yr

 

Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications.  The District is seeking culturally proficient individuals who actively foster an engaging environment where students can develop confidence in their own success consistent with the Profile of a Shenendehowa Employee.

 

Job Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for assisting students in an Academic Lab. Working in a small group setting, the individual will work with the teachers to follow a structured plan and provide students with guidance and direction on their academic assignments. Responsibilities will include monitoring students' behavior, providing positive feedback, keeping students on task, and redirecting students. This individual may be assigned other duties in the classroom. 

 

Compensation & Benefits

Step 1 ($20.72/hr) – Step 5 ($23.23/hr)

CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement

 

Certifications/Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and experience with youth desirable.  Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Exhibit good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy.  Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
