1.0 FTE Probationary Position
Applications are now being accepted for a probationary position that will commence in the 2025 – 2026 school year. Certifications/Qualifications
- Valid NYS English Language Arts (Grades 7-12) certification
- Strong pedagogical approach to teaching and learning in English Language Arts, with a focus on NYS standards and skills in grades 10-12
- Experience with curriculum, instruction and assessment at the high school level is preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for adolescent learners
- Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that develop skills in reading, writing, listening/speaking and language
- Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, close reading of texts, skillful writing and clear expression of ideas
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Utilize various instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning
- Prepare students for college and career readiness through rigorous instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administrators to support student success
- Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives
