Certifications/Qualifications
- Valid New York State certification in Visual Arts (K-12).
- Strong pedagogical skills in various art forms and techniques, including drawing, painting,
sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and art history. - Experience teaching a range of art courses at the high school level.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to engage
and inspire high school students. - Proficiency in integrating technology into art instruction, including digital art tools
and software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans that promote artistic skills, creativity,
and art appreciation. - Foster an engaging and supportive studio environment that encourages student exploration, experimentation, and artistic growth.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and differentiated instruction
as needed. - Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance art learning.
- Organize and supervise student art exhibitions and displays.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success and integrate
art into the school community. - Maintain a safe and organized art studio.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
