Automotive Service Worker
Transportation Department
8 hrs/day, 12 mos/year
Mon-Fri, 2nd shift, 2pm-10pm
Shenendehowa Central School District has an anticipated vacancy and is now accepting applications. Job Responsibilities
An entry level position with opportunity for advancement performs routine service and maintenance of automotive equipment including but not limited to, changing tires, greasing vehicles, aligning wheels, and cleaning vehicles and machinery. Assists with repairs to heavy automotive and mechanical equipment including repairing brake systems, differentials, transmissions, and front/rear axles. Removal of snow/ice from buses, sidewalks and parking lots. Must possess working knowledge and basic hand tools necessary to perform repairs on diesel and gasoline powered engines. If NOT yet 21 years of age at the time of hiring, must within six months after turning 21, possess a CDL-B license with a P and S endorsement and be able to pass DOT physical. May operate a school bus on assigned route and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits
Step 1 ($22.07/hr) – Step 5 ($23.88/hr)

Certifications/Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and good mechanical aptitude with demonstrated desire to learn. Good working knowledge of automotive repair methods, tools/materials, equipment, and terminology. Ability to understand and carry out both verbal and written directions. Exhibit good motor and hand/eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, thoroughness, good judgment, mental alertness, tact and courtesy. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Physical condition commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
